Obituary of Erich Vogel

VOGEL, Erich.

Passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital on Monday, June 21, 2021, at the age of 84, after a sudden and unexpected heart failure. Erich was born in Poland on May 23, 1937, and his family emigrated to New Hamburg in 1952. He worked as a machinist at Canada Blower and Forge in Kitchener for 25 years, then enjoyed a happy retirement.

He is survived and sadly missed by his daughter Sonja of Kitchener and granddaughter Brittany of Pembroke. He will be remembered by his brothers John (Beverley) of New Hamburg , Helmut (Paulette) and sisters Rose Wingelaar and Lorie Tuck of Kitchener. Also will be missed by his nieces and nephews from Kitchener, Waterloo , Toronto, Guelph, Cobalt, Ohio and Kenabeek. .

He is especially missed by his companion of many years, Hilde.

Special thanks to the compassionate staff of the ICU unit of Grand River Hospital who gave him such good care in his final days.

A Celebration of Life will be planned later in the year for family and friends.
