Lovada Kechnie was born November 22, 1938 in Kitchener, Ontario. She went home to Heaven on July 13, 2021 at 82 years of age. Her husband, Ron Kechnie, predeceased her on June 30, 1983. She is the beloved Mother of Valerie (Jeff) Young, Gini (Perry) Williams, and Paul (Karen) who will miss her dearly but celebrate her going home to be with her Lord; loving Grandma to Jonathan Young, Candice Young, Bethany Mullen, Brent Williams, Cathy Williams, Cindy McEvoy, Sara Mantler, Tracy Beagle, Courtney Anderson, Taylor Anderson and Great-Grandma to their 21 beautiful children; Great-Great-Grandma to Avaiya and Baby Campbell. Lovada was predeceased by her parents Stella and Frank Tutt. She was the last of their four children; Shirley (Ron) Lauber, the late Frank Tutt, and Darlene (Jim) Hosie. She will be dearly missed by her sisters and her nieces and nephews and their families as well as Ron's siblings and their families.
Lovada spent 30 years in the nearby village of Winterbourne where she and Ron lived in the Presbyterian Manse, raised their family, and entertained hundreds of young people, family and friends every year. She then spent 18 years in Waterloo on Ellis Crescent North where she blessed friends with her "Tea Before Heaven" ministry. She eventually moved to Valleyview Manor Senior's Apartments in St. Jacobs where she spent her last 11 years lavishing her smiles and sharing uplifting words of encouragement through her card ministry to her neighbours, family, and friends. Lovada lived Romans 12:8, "If your gift is encouraging others, be encouraging...and if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly." It was her lifelong wish to spread faith, hope and love to those around her and this she did well and in abundance! She has truly left a legacy of love to all who had the privilege to know her.
The family would like to thank Doctors Ler, Merchant and Valliere and the many caring staff at Grand River Hospital on 8B who so lovingly looked after Mom in her last days. Your compassion and professionalism is much appreciated. You truly are superheroes to so many!
