We are saddened to hear about the passing of our dear Uncle John. He was such a warm and thoughtful person. We will never forget his acts of kindness to us. When our first child was only days old, we had the privilege of having John and Stella stay at our newly built home. We live in BC. They were both so happy to hold our little baby - and she loved to be held. It gave me time to run around and do some necessary chores, have a shower etc. A couple of days after they arrived, uncle John rose early snd started building sidewalk forms in the front of our house. He probably sensed my husband was feeling exhausted from house building, moving and having a newborn. Uncle John’s quiet actions encouraged my husband, and together they finished building the sidewalk. During our visits to see family in Ontario, John and Stella always made time to invite us for lunch or dinner. On one visit, Uncle John drove our family in his van to Niagara on the Lake because he knew we wanted to go there. There was heavy traffic and it was a long drive, but he never complained about the traffic or long day. Instead he smiled and made us feel so welcome. Uncle John was a compassionate man and the many years of volunteering with charitable causes attest to that. On a personal level, he was always warm and welcoming and made us feel special. Our whole family adored him and we told him that. We will never forget him and we miss him greatly.
