Passed away peacefully with her family at her side on August 19, 2021 at Lisaard House, Cambridge at the age of 67.
Brenda will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 35 years, Bernie and her children Allison Yantzi (Andrew), Lauren Hauptmann (Lucas), Kevin Howorth (Sydney), and Leanne Howorth (Nick), and grandchildren Evelynn, Jonathan, and Leo. She will also by deeply missed by her siblings Lila (Mike) Tusch, Roger (Sharon) Nafziger, Stephen (Heather) Nafziger, and Grant (Juanita) Nafziger as well as her in laws Paul (Marie-Françoise) Howorth, Anne Marie (John) Welch, Betty Claire (Gene) McDonald, Larry (Chris) Howorth, and Brian (Ruth) Howorth, her many nieces and nephews and their families, and many wonderful friends. She was predeceased by her infant son Jonathan Lewis Howorth, her parents, Lewis and Idella Nafziger, and her brother William Dean Nafziger.
Brenda’s incredibly generous and caring nature was perfectly suited to her career as a nurse, most recently at the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre where she worked until her retirement in 2020. She was well respected and appreciated by her colleagues and, most of all, her patients. This limitless generosity also extended to her family where she spent countless hours driving each of her children around, then hosting and cooking for her grown children and their families, and caring for her grandchildren. Never one for the spotlight, she always put others before herself and worked tirelessly behind many scenes, providing support for others to succeed and shine. She was also a lot of fun and could match wits with the best of them, and she loved a quiet day on the beach with a book.

Visitation will be held at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday, August 22, 2021 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. and on Monday, August 23, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
