Leo passed away peacefully at Lanark Heights Long Term Care in Kitchener on Friday, September 3, 2021, at the age of 88.
Beloved husband of Rita Reitzel (nee Schnurr) who predeceased him in 2009. Loving father to Rick (Cheryl) Reitzel, Bonnie (Stephen) Gaudet, Butch (Cheryl) Reitzel, Linda Reitzel, and Gwen (Dave) Gerencser. Forever cherished and remembered by his grandchildren, Amy (Dave) Reitzel, Matt (Lauren) Reitzel, Laura (Bob) Eby, Stephanie Gaudet, Scott Gaudet, Sarah (Steph) Kunneke, Justin (Lindsay) Reitzel, Bryon (Tiffany) Reitzel, Melissa Schelter, Nick (Ashley) Gerencser, Adam (Katarina) Gerencser, and nine great-grandchildren.
Dear brother of Jerome (Margaret, deceased), Stan (Lorain), Sr. Marcella SSND, Dolores Brandon, Fr. Ray CR, Lou (Carole), Fr. Harry CR, Lorne (Anne) and Dianne Dalton (Ray, deceased). Predeceased by his parents, Clayton and Cecilia (nee Ruetz); brothers, Bob (Lillian), Albert (Wilma); sister, Sr. Cecilia SSND; and sister-in-law, Betty.
Leo loved his stamp collection. He was a Scout master and helped set up Scout troops in Waterloo. He worked as an ambulance driver, taxi driver, and police officer at the University of Waterloo.
Due to the pandemic, a private family visitation and funeral service will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home in Waterloo.
