Jerry Henwood posted a condolence
Monday, January 3, 2022
Peter was the childhood friend of my father, Norman Henwood, in Portsmouth, England. Dad was always telling me about the fun, games and scrapes that they got up to. Also of what Peter and Nesta were doing in their lives as the years progressed. They stayed in touch regularly throughout the years. Peter was Best Man, an apt title, at Mum (Margaret King) and Dads wedding. I know of Peters life from Dad and he defiantly was The Best of Men. RIP Jerry Henwood

Peter is a beautiful soul. The most caring and altruistic person I have known. My family and I had the honour of knowing him for 10 years and spending wonderful times with him. My children Paula and Nick have the best memories of him: days at museums, parks, theatre, cozy afternoons playing Rummy-Q with him, and of so many fun ways he used to introduce them to Science. He always had loving and supporting words to guide them, and he truly understood them.
My heart breaks thinking he's not with us anymore, but I'm so very grateful for having been able to enjoy his wonderful friendship. Peter was also my Spanish student, the best student I've ever had. During our lessons and in life, he taught me way more than I taught him. I have always admired his wisdom and well-roundedness. Peter inspires me, my husband and my children. He showed us that happiness is about giving, serving and caring for others selflessly. I genuinely wish his goodness continues to inspire every person that was lucky to meet him.
We love you Peter, you'll be in our hearts forever. Gracias por todo querido amigo! Marcela, Cesar, Paula, Nick.

My Name is Rochelle Sanson. I've met Peter Morris through my Mother Lilia Heagney when we used to live in the Philippines.
When I first met Peter, I found him to be an intelligent, very caring, kind and respectful person.
Peter and mum had been good friend and had been in touch for years. I'm pretty much sure Peter has been instrumental in supporting me and mum financially in some way or the other.
I would like to thank you Peter for your generosity and you had been one of the people whose been instrumental to us to find a better life in the beautiful country of Australia. Rest in Peace.

My favourite memories of Peter are my conversations about the Earth Sciences Museum and the Rock Garden. Here he is at the 2013 Sudbury Rock and Mineral Show. I had my mother with me. It was the first time she ever attended a Rock and Mineral Show. I sat her down next to Peter and I went off to do other things. My mother was never shy to chat and knew nothing about geology. She and Peter struck up a good conversation. As we were leaving she asked, who is this interesting man....we had a great chat. Interesting, kind, enthusiastic, passionate and excited for the youngins....are just some of the things I will always remember about Peter. He will be sorely missed.

Barry - that is such a great story - thank you for sharing and sounds like Dad! He would always joke that one moment he could be sharing salty stories while sharing a rum with person -and then being very pious with a cup of tea with another - he certainly was a good conversationalist - which our family enjoyed too

Peter will be so sorely missed! He leaves such a legacy of caring in his personal, volunteer and professional lives. I am so grateful that he was willing to patiently teach me about geology in a way that can be shared with my grandson. Not everyone can make a complex and lifelong passion understandable by laypeople and children, but Peter did just that. I will continue to remember Peter every time I “talk rocks” with my grandson, and when we dig in the dirt! When he’s old enough, I’ll be sure that he knows who supplied the expertise that allowed me to teach him the basics of geology. I will also cherish memories of other far-reaching conversations with an accomplished and curious mind.

I first met Peter in his home in Waterloo, when I was in the process of starting a charity to do work in El Salvador. He was so generous with his time and advice and shared his expertise so willingly. As I was leaving, having expressed my appreciation for his help, he ended the visit by handing me a generous financial gift, saying simply: This will help you get started.
Peter was a regular attendee at our subsequent fundraising dinners.
I will always remember his kindness, his generosity, and the trust he placed in me—someone he had only known for a few hours.
May he Rest In Peace.

Peter was a very special person, with his refreshing look on life, his wisdom and his wittiness.
My sincere condolences to all who loved and will miss him, especially to Mona. Even in his final days the deep love, friendship and understanding between the two of them was evident and of great comfort.
May the memory of his kind and giving nature provide comfort to those who will have to go on without him.

Dear Charlotte,
Your father, Peter, was one of a kind, with emphasis on KIND! I will always remember him in his front yard, which he turned into a Garden of Eden. I will try to do better in my own garden in memory of his nurturing ways. Wrapping you round in compassion and love,
Elizabeth Moffat, and the other Peter

He was the preeminent gardener - as was his mother -- unfortunately that gene ended with him - as I am more of a Darwinian gardener - the survival of the fittest - however he did plant a few plants in my garden that have survived many years - so he will live on in my garden - even if it is not the Garden of Eden- thank you for the love and compassion

Peter’s passing away is a great personal loss to me and my wife, Swarn. He was a friend, an advisor and a generous supporter of a cause that we both shared. From 2012 to 2015, he was a member of the board of directors of Spiritual Heritage Education Network (SHEN), a local organization dedicated to education in the core spiritual and scientific heritage of humanity to unify the world. Abrazos Canada, SHEN, I personally and many more beneficiaries of his wisdom, love and selfless service are sad to know that Peter is gone and will miss him dearly. Our heartfelt condolences to his family and partner.

Querido Peter.
Tu humanidad.
Para ti Peter. Con todo nuestro corazón.
MADRE TIERRA MEXICO A.C.
