It is with great sadness that we announce the passing away of Patricia on September 21, 2021 at the age of 70 at Arborfield and District Health Care Centre, Arborfield, Saskatchewan. She is the last member of the Robert Atchison family.
Patti was born in Carrot River, Saskatchewan on June 7th, 1951. She had lived in Kitchener until 2015 and was employed by the Waterloo Catholic School Board. In July 2015 Patti moved to Craven, Saskatchewan then to Zenon Park, Saskatchewan.
She is survived by her daughter Sheila Laughren (Steve), son Lonnie Dean and grandchildren Kimberly Laughren and Devon Laughren.
Patricia is also survived by stepsons Todd McMahon (Susanne) and Sean McMahon (Jennifer) and grandchildren Keagan and Reilly McMahon and Kenzie and Olivia McMahon.
Left to mourn are brother and sisters-in-law Ron Jackson, Rose Hanley (Bernard), Hugh McMahon (Elaine), Lawrence McMahon (June), Clair McMahon, Ann McLeod, Michael McMahon (Maureen), Dorothy Evans (Charlie), Frances Melchin, Tom McMahon (Noreen), and Colleen Rees (George). A special friend Valerie McLean. She is fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Patricia was predeceased by her parents Robert Alexander Atchison and Velma Atchison (Wilkins) and in-laws Lorne and Doris McMahon.
Her beloved husband Gary McMahon passed away in 2013. She was also predeceased by her siblings James, Peggy Goy, Bobby and Joan Jackson. Also brothers-in-law Patrick McMahon (1962), Brian McMahon (2014), Dale Melchin (2016) and Bill MacLeod (2016).
Patti enjoyed reading, gardening and baking; especially butter tarts. Patti and Gary loved to dance and took every opportunity to do so until his passing. They also loved to travel.
Patti has a special place in her heart for her animals, Zorro, Grayson and Cisco.
Patti certainly will be missed by the Care Team that surrounded her. We are so grateful for their excellent care and support throughout her final days.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 28 from 12:30 – 1:00 pm at Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church (305 Laurentian Drive, Kitchener). The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church following the visitation at 1:00 pm with Father Pawel Stankiewicz officiating. Christian burial will take place at Williamsburg Cemetery, Kitchener following the Mass.
