Dear Family of Joyce Headlam,
I'd like to pass on my condolences to you on the passing of Joyce.
I had the pleasure of teaching clarinet to Joyce for many years. She was a hard-working and committed student, and tackled with enthusiasm the musical challenges I gave her. She also was generous to my family, and sewed beautiful dresses made of a butterfly pattern for my daughters. The picture of them in their dresses still has a prominent spot in my daughter's room. I remember Philip came to use my piano when he was visiting one winter, and I believe I delivered something to Bruce in one of my trips for a lesson in the States - I was happy to try in a very small way to give back to Joyce's family.
Joyce contributed much to our community in her support of arts organizations and other worthy causes. The world is a better place because of her.
