Robert Wittich

Obituary of Robert Clayton Norman Wittich

Passed away on October 1, 2021 at the age of 77 in the care of Hospice of Waterloo Region surrounded by family.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Gail (Kochems) and daughters Christine of Markham and Stephanie McCauley, her husband Morgan and grandson Xander of Alberta.

If you asked Robert recently how he was doing, he would say “old and grumpy” and give you a cheeky grin from behind his mask. That would be his opening to a conversation covering a wide range of topics. He loved to Kibbitz. This enjoyment for conversation came from his many years as an independent business owner of C.A. Wittich & Son Ltd. – A manufacturer’s representative company.

Robert was lucky enough to retire from the business world in his 40’s. He and his wife Gail chose to expand their love of crafting and worked at both the Waterloo and Kitchener Markets for 20 years. He was a woodworker, she as a knitter and sewer.

In recent years, travelling the world with his wife has been his joy. They were able to see and experience many adventures together.

He will be missed!

As per Robert’s wishes, there will be no visitation and a private family service. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted with the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Hospice of Waterloo Region, Trinity Village Care Center or a charity of your choice can be arranged through the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
