Rosemary Peterson (nee Charlton), 85, of Waterloo, returned to her heavenly home on October 7th, 2021 after a difficult battle with cancer. Her devotion to family, and her deep faith supported her throughout her struggle and ultimately brought her peace.
Rosemary was born to the late Edna and Thomas Charlton on December 14th, 1935. She was one of seven children, predeceased by Marjorie Heibein, Lloyd (Chuck) Charlton, Thomas Charlton and Audrey Valeriote; survived by Lee Binkle and Michael Charlton.
Rosemary married her childhood sweetheart Jack, whom she first met at a Silverwood picnic when she was 12, they were married for 63 years. Rosemary was a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University. She spent her entire career with the Waterloo Catholic District School Board. Rosemary began her teaching career at St. Louis Catholic Elementary school, on the very grounds that were donated by her grandfather to build the school and church.
Rosemary was an outstanding softball pitcher who played for Harmony Lunch and Dorscht Sports. She relished her time with Probus and CWL. She was an avid reader, who will be missed by her book club, enjoyed skiing, golfing, dragon boat racing, long walks and reflective prayer.
