FREUND, Norman Harold

Passed away at his home at Chartwell Terrace on the Square on Sunday, October 10^th, 2021, at the age of 93 years.  Beloved husband of the late Luella (nee Weppler) Freund (2020).  Loving dad of Cheryl and her husband Keith Myra.  Cherished grandpa of Tim Myra and Aly Smith (Rob) and great grandpa of Elliot and Arianwen Smith. Predeceased by his parents Harold and Laura (nee Steinke) Freund, his brother Arthur Freund and a daughter in infancy.

Norm was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Kitchener where in his earlier years he served as Sunday School Superintendent and as a member of the Church Council and Building Committee, and in more recent years as an Assisting Minister.  He also served on the Board of Hardy Hearts, volunteered with the Gift Shop at Freeport Hospital and was a member of the Operating Committee of the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium.

The family will receive friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street S., Waterloo on Sunday, October 17, 2021 from 1:30pm-4:00pm.  Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 11am. with a reception to follow in the Fireside Room of the funeral home.  Interment will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, Kitchener.  Those wishing to attend the visitation, funeral service and reception are kindly asked to RSVP through the funeral home www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.  The funeral service will be livestreamed and a link to the service will be available at the top of Norm’s obituary page at www.erbgood.com
