Mulhall, Leonard Michael
July 25,1927-October 22,2021
With heavy hearts but gratitude for a long life, we announce the passing of Leonard Mulhall in his 95th year at Schlegel Village - University Gates. A much-loved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Len is survived by his children Michael (Suzanne) Kathy (Roger) Stephen (Kathie) Joanne (Guy) and Kevin (Marianne); Grandchildren - Erich (Cynthia), Jenny (Shawn), Vickie (Pat), Julie (Edwin), Megan (Aron), Jeremy, Ailee, Elyse, Sean, Rachel, Melissa, Emma, Great grandchildren - Matilda, Albert, Taylor, Finn, Grady, Max, Theo;
his wife Aldeen Westman, her family, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by wife Veronica in 1993 and daughter-in-law Karin in 1990.
Dad was born on the family farm in Proton. He met his first love Veronica and moved to Toronto. Mom and Dad had 2 kids, then moved to and settled in Waterloo where 3 more kids came along. In 1966, they acquired Dad’s other love, the cottage at Francis Lake. Dad loved family and gatherings; corn roasts, fires, snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, waterskiing, and more - most of which happened at the cottage. Mom and Dad raised 5 kids and a dog, did lots of travelling and celebrated 40 years of marriage. After Mom passed, Dad had a rough go but was blessed to meet his second great love Aldeen. They enjoyed 24 years of marriage and Aldeen kept the travel schedule full!
Dad had a naturally charismatic energy, an engaging smile and was loved and thought very highly of by many. He loved a good scotch, a good story or joke, and in the past, a good cigar. His living legacy is his family who had the gift of spending the best of quality time with Dad over this past year. We are so so grateful to the staff of Egerton Neighbourhood at University Gates for their love, laughter, dancing, and compassionate care that they gave to Dad over this past year.
