My deepest sympathies to Karens family and her HH family! I too worked at Home Hardware and interacted with Karen many many times! She was a vault of information!! She had the memory of a steel vault and was an invaluable employee! I remember teasing her that she couldn’t retire before I did!! May you Rest In Peace Karen. You will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing you and calling you friend.

I too have been at Home Hardware a long time, not as long as Karen though. I have worked closely with her over the years and she always brightened my day. We had many the conversations about kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. She loved you all so much! We also talked about Gidgie and her cat (Sorry the name escapes me right now). We loved her so much here at Home! She made everyday an adventure and her mind was phenomenal....she had soooo much knowledge...probably more than five people put together. I was confirmed with Karen in 1960 at St. James Lutheran Church in Elmira. In the last 10 years I saw her at Home Hardware and also in our Waterloo neighbourhood.She was always a cheerful person

Karen was my very first co-worker and supervisor when I started at Home Hardware. I grew up outside of Stratford, so Karen and I were quick to figure out that we knew many of the same people and over the years of working together our friendship grew. Although I changed departments, we would still see each other in the halls, Karen always with a smile on her face. Thank you for sharing your mom and Grandma with us over the years. I also worked at Home Hardware, almost as long as Karen. We crossed paths many times over those years. The last few years I had less interactions, but whenever she saw me or anyone else she always had time to say hello. She always was smiling. So sorry for your loss.
