Passed away peacefully at Lisaard House, Cambridge on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at the age of 69 years. Dianne was the loving wife of Larry Shantz for 48 years. Loving mother of Troy (Cory) and Brent (Leigh Anne Swayne). Doting grandmother of Claire and Cameron Shantz. Dianne will be remembered by her sisters Linda Bender (Ken), Pat Klassen (Art), and Jennifer Horne (Gord Hammer). Dear sister-in-law of Murray and Carol Shantz, Carolyn and Howie Wideman and Linda Shantz-Keresztes and Lou Keresztes. Dearly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Irvin (1980) and Helen (2016), her brother Douglas (1956), parents-in-law Lloyd (2005) and Etta (2012) Shantz, and her niece Emilee (2010).
Dianne's social and fun-loving nature led to the formation of deep friendships from many and varied walks of life. Dianne loved to travel and golf, as well as spend time with family, friends and, of course, her two beautiful grandchildren. Dianne was an active member of Breslau Mennonite Church.
To attend the visitation and service for Dianne, the family has requested proof of vaccination be provided by all attendees. Personal face coverings are required. Relatives and friends must register (RSVP) at www.erbgood.com or by calling the funeral home at 519-745-8445. Friends are invited to share their memories of Dianne with her family during visitation at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, Ontario on Saturday November 13, 2021 from 2 p.m. to 5 pm. The funeral service will be held at Breslau Mennonite Church, 226 Woolwich Street, Breslau on Monday, November 15, 2021 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Eleanor Epp-Stobbe officiating. Family and friends are invited to view the livestream of the funeral service, a link will be posted on Dianne’s obituary page on the funeral home website. Interment at Breslau Mennonite Church Cemetery, Breslau at a later date.
