Dear Nina
I was saddened to read the notice of your mother’s passing.
Hilppa and I started our teaching careers at Roseland School in 1970.
It was a pleasure to work with her. She was a very creative teacher who always had interesting ideas for learning projects, especially for art lessons in the classroom.
During the 70’s and 80’s we became good friends and shared many enjoyable times outside of the school setting. Perhaps you recall visiting our cottage on McKenzie Lake with your parents.
We last spoke around the year 2000 after your mom had moved to Mansfield. At that time, we promised to try and get together but life moved on and it never happened.
Hilppa was a generous and true friend. I think of her as one of the best friends in my lifetime.
My deepest condolences to you and your family.

Darling Norma
I remember the times at Mackenzie Lake so well, from the chipmunk trail up my arm to the time my friend and I fell out of the boat at the dock. My mom loved to spend time with you there, your deep friendship bloomed in nature. I’d listen to you talk about your classes and students and shared passion for teaching. Although time and distance separated you, my mom carried you in her heart and fondly remembered your friendship. Thank you for your beautiful condolences.
Love Nina
