Obituary of Erika Anjulie Joseph
It is with profound and overwhelming sadness that we announce the passing of our shining star, Erika Joseph, at the age of 3... "I'm almost 4 Papa". December 10th marked the beginning of her next adventure in entering heaven.
Her passing is an immeasurable loss for her family...mother-Kirsten Degutis, father-Brandon Joseph (deceased), grandparents-Vic and Liz Degutis, grandparents-Mike and Brenda Joseph, great grandfather- Paul Moreau, oma and opa-Marian and Goswin Roth, uncle and aunt/godparents-Alex and Maria Degutis, uncle and aunt-Christie and Jamie Todd, uncle-Gary McConkey, aunt-Ashley Copeland, great-uncle and great-aunt-Ted and Jamie Degutis, great-aunt-Mary Jane Moreau, great-aunt and uncle-Kerry and Albert Hale, great uncle and aunt-Jim and Pat Rhame, and loving cousins.
After a devastating auto accident in Owen Sound on November 30th, resulting tragically in the death of her father, Brandon Joseph, Erika was airlifted to London Children's Hospital. The exceptional, professional and caring staff in the Paediatric Critical Care Unit made every effort, but at the end, Erika succumbed peacefully to her injuries. Erika gave so much to all of us in her short life and her final gift was to help others through the Trillium Gift of Life Network.
She was the best of all of us and brought so much joy to our family every moment of her life. Erika was our shooting star. Her life was illuminating, leaving a significant impact on all of us, etching herself on our souls forever. We are all better people for having had Erika in our lives, if only briefly.
We loved Erika every day and now we will miss her every day...
