Passed away peacefully on December 30, 2021 at the age of 88. Loving husband of 62 years to Elfreide (nee Meier). Cherished dad to daughters Rita (Jim) Larson and Peggy (Ed) Huberts. Beloved Opa to grandchildren Reid (Alysha), Nadine (Mardy), Courtney and Blake and great-grandchildren Larkin, Baylor, Brinley and Bo. Always remembered by his brother Bill (Kathy) Toth, sister-in-law Anne (Dieter) Paetz and many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his mother Anna Toth.

George came to Canada in 1957 with his mother and brother and spent most of his working career at Uniroyal as a machinist until he retired. He enjoyed watching and participating in many sports such as soccer, hockey, football, biking and cross-country skiing.  In his home country Hungary, he was proud to share stories of his short but notable boxing career.  In the years to follow his retirement he loved to spend time with his family and friends and travel to as many places as possible.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be announced by the family.

Family Tree

A limb has fallen from the family tree.
I keep hearing a voice that says, "Grieve not for me.
Remember the best times, the laughter, the song.
The good life I lived while I was strong.
Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you.
Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest.
Remembering all, how I truly was blessed.
Continue traditions, no matter how small.
Go on with your life, don't stare at the wall
I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin.
Until the day comes we're together again
