One summer evening a Friday or Saturday about 30 years ago on King st. Kitchener with lots of people about I heard someone calling "Bobby" ..."Bobby" ..."Bobby" ... Was that person calling me? Nobody had called me "Bobby" since I was 7 years old. Sure enough a man across the street was waving his arm and calling "Bobby". It was David, smiling from ear to ear. I crossed the street to speak with him, he was with some friends all enjoying themselves out on the town.

David and I talked for a while having a nice spontaneous visit. It was good seeing him after having not being in contact for many years prior. He always called me "Bobby" since he was a little boy. I had never forgotten about that brief few minutes on a busy summer evening when David singled me out with his enthusiastic gestures and bellowing from the gut.
