ZEPEDA, Lydia Mercedes

Passed away at the Freeport Campus of Grand River Hospital on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at the age of 93 years.  Dear mother of Aida, Jose Alex (Edith), Dinora (Jose) and the late Manuel.  Beloved grandmother of Guadalupe (Arturo), Lydia (Terry), and Johnny here in Canada and many grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren in Canada, El Salvador and The United States. Survived by her sisters Eva and Maria.  Predeceased by her parents Mercedes and Sebastian, her sister Ana, her brother Ramon, her loved granddaughters Carmen Elena and Berta Dorian and her nephew William.

Lydia was born in Santa Elena, El Salvador.  She immigrated to Canada and lived with her granddaughter Guadalupe and her husband Arturo and their children Anthony, Cory and Sofia who are forever grateful for her motherly love shown towards them. For enjoyment, she loved music, liked to cook, loved to travel, maintained an active Facebook account and spent many hours raising her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 1pm in the Chapel of the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street S., Waterloo. Visitation will follow the funeral service from 2-4pm.  Those wishing to attend the funeral service or visitation are asked to wear a personal face covering and RSVP to the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.

Interment will be held in El Salvador.
