Obituary of Alice Cook
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alice Cook at Grand River Hospital - Freeport Campus, in Kitchener, Ontario on Saturday, January 22nd, 2022 in her 85th year. She is now reunited with her beloved husband of 63 years, John "Ian" Cook (2019).
Loving mother to Derek (Lori), Lorraine (Tony) and Alasdair (Cheryl). Proud grandmother to Kyle, Kevin (2021), Michael, Matthew (Shelby), Nicholas, Megan, Lauren (Kevin) and Melissa (Ryan) and great-grandmother to Paisley, Chloe, Finley, Madilyn and Harlow.
Predeceased by her parents James Beattie and Agnes Ritchie Wells.
Alice was born in Ardrossan, Scotland on October 9th, 1936. She wed her husband Ian on August 25, 1956 and together they had three children. Alice and Ian, along with their young family immigrated to Canada in 1966 and settled in Toronto. Alice worked most of her career in retail. Her true passion was gardening, dogs and golf. She could spend hours watching any golf tournament on television. In her retirement years she and Ian moved to Elliot Lake and travelled Canada coast-to-coast. In more recent years they relocated to the Kitchener-Waterloo area.
Alice loved her family dearly and will be sadly missed by all.
Cremation will have taken place and a private family service will be held in the spring when we can gather safely again.
