May 13, 1930 – January 31, 2022
Peacefully passed in his sleep to join his beloved wife the late Lorraine (nee Schmidt) Davidson on Monday January 31, 2022, in his 92nd year. Dear father of Deborah (Terry), Gwen (Larry), the late Len (Carol), the late Don (Sheila), Janet (Bill), and John (Fawn). Cherished grandpa of 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Survived by his twin Ross (Eileen) and brother Larry (Eleanor). Predeceased by his parents Bill and Margaret Grant and his sister Audrey (Don Schmidt).
Roy retired from Swan Dust Control where he was a longtime employee. He was a loyal, supportive member of the Royal Canadian Legion Waterloo Branch 530 and the KW Navy Club for many years. He enlisted in the reserves on October 3, 1948, with the 54th LAA (Light Anti Aircraft) Royal Artillery and trained for civil defense against possible war threats, being discharged on April 20, 1951. He enjoyed volunteering for several activities and various fund-raising events for both establishments.
Roy kept busy throughout his retirement years doing such hobbies as needlepoint becoming a Needle Point Artist, creating beautiful works of art. Also enjoying painting, reading and many evenings cheering on his favourite hockey team, The Maple Leafs.
Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street S., Waterloo on Sunday, February 6, 2022, from 2-4pm & 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Monday, February 7, 2022, at 1:30pm. Interment will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery, Waterloo.
