Steve coached my daughters in softball, and my oldest played her entire career with Vic. We spent many, many evenings and weekends at ball diamonds all over southern Ontario with the Hoopers, and enjoyed a lot of pizza, burgers and beverages around their pool. We will never forget Steve's infectious laugh and generous hospitality.
Kelly, Vic and Sam, you are in our hearts and in our prayers. Rest in peace, Coach.

I am deeply saddened to hear about Mr. Hooper’s passing. I was fortunate enough to be taught by Mr. Hooper during my time at Bluevale. He always had a knack for getting me to class and for ensuring his students followed their dreams. He was so kind, positive and had a great sense of humour. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

The Hooper family is truly special. Steve and Kelly always opened their door for me - I spent many nights/weekends crashing at their home - the single friend who never left but Steve never complained. Always generous and kind. I got to spend time with two beautiful girls and have many great times. Steve will truly be missed and never forgotten. Kelly - if you are reading this..is my spelling and grammar good??? I know you will be checking. Sending love from Terresa, Darren & Rya

Mr. Hooper was my son's guidance counsellor all through highschool. He was always very supportive and encouraging and it was because of his valuable help, that my son graduated in 2019. He was always patient with my son (and myself when we had meetings) and he was always approachable and understanding when my son was having difficulties. He encouraged my son to keep going, never give up and to work hard, which contributed to his success at Eastwood. His presence will be greatly missed at Eastwood. It was an honour knowing him and I will forever be grateful for all he did for my son. Condolences to his family and friends. God bless.

My deepest condolences to the family of Steven Hooper/Mr. Hooper. May his smile carry on through the memories you hold. It was my pleasure to teach Steven’s daughter, Sammy, when she was in Grade 2. She was a bright, caring, funny, and kind student in my class…I’m sure many of her great qualities came from her dad. Years later, Mr. Hooper became connected with my own son at Eastwood C.I. What a supportive and caring guy in the world of high school . What a legacy Mr. Hooper has left behind…a beautiful family and big shoes to fill in his role in the education field.

Mr. Hooper was my son's counsellor all through highschool at Eastwood. He was patient, supportive and a wonderful influence on my son. It was because of Mr. Hooper, that my son graduated highschool. He would meet with him, give him advice, suggestions, and most importantly, he listened to my son's concerns and needs. Every time we had a meeting, Mr. Hooper was always supportive and encouraging and this went a long way in making highschool more tolerable and enjoyable for my son. The last time we saw Mr. Hooper was in 2019 at my son's graduation. Knowing that a large reason for my son graduating was due to Mr. Hooper, his passing saddens us deeply. We send our condolences to his family and friends who are dealing with this loss during this difficult time. Please know that my son's success was largely due to Mr. Hooper's assistance. God bless.

My condolences to the entire Hooper family.I remember Steve clearly as a dedicated student. He always gave 120% on the athletic field or court and along with his friend KN made my after school side-job a lot easier. My regret is that I didn’t get to interact with him as an adult but I’m sure he was a great guy. I’m sure he’s sadly missed.

My sincerest condolences to Kelly, Vic, Sam, Barry, Heather, Jeff, Jaye and all who loved Steve. I know there will be a deep void in our own household with this sudden loss. But we are blessed with so many cherished memories: Steve standing up for Kyle in our wedding, numerous dinner parties, Steve and Kyle belting out late night Billy Joel karaoke, chilling in the Hooper pool, countless NYE celebrations, fun trips to Kingston, Blue Mountain, St. John's, Montreal and Kingsville to name a few, and finally the boys letting me tag along, particularly the last 2 pandemic summers, for numerous rounds of golf where Steve was always encouraging with helpful tips wrapped up with a few clever zingers every now and then. So many fun memories tied to Steve. Too many to mention. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the hundreds, yes hundreds of rounds of late night euchre over the years. Kelly and I could never actually prove that Steve and Kyle were cheating, but we know... just say'n. Aw Steve, you will be missed my friend. What started out as friendship through association, grew to a true friendship. Thanks for all the laughs and good times. I will always put out an extra piece of bruschetta for you. RIP Hoops.
