Passed away peacefully, at home with his loving wife Katarina by his side, on Monday, February 28, 2022 at the age of 84 years.

Beloved husband of Katarina “Katie” (nee Rempel), loving father of Arnold, Heidi and Elisabeth, cherished grandfather of 11 grandchildren; Benjamin, Erik, Monika, Andrew, Sarah, Kendrik, Alaina, Anthony, Aedan, Alexander, Andrew. John will be missed by several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbours.

Predeceased by his parents Gerhard and Anna (nee Sawatzky) as well as his siblings.

John was born on April 26, 1937. He immigrated at a young age with his parents to Paraguay and later as an adult, he and his family immigrated to Canada. John worked at Lear Siegler for over 37 years until his retirement.  He and Katie have been faithful members of W-K United Mennonite Church, Waterloo.

To attend the visitation and service for John, personal face coverings are required. Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 10:00 am to 10:45 am.  The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
