Grub, Lore Grete Lina
(June 28, 1934 – February 25, 2022)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lore Grub. Peacefully, at home, comforted by the love of her family, Lore passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022, in her 87th year.
Lore will be sadly missed by her family and surviving siblings. Mother of Carmen (Hans), Helga (Gary), Rolfe (Sheena), John (Patti), and Annette; grandmother (Oma) of Richard (Marta), Gavin, Jeremy (Jennifer), Jasmine (Chris), Suzanne, Christopher (Michelle), and Kristina; and great grandmother (Gross Oma) of Aria, Braxtyn-Marie, Brianna, Caden, Cole, and Ronan; siblings Irmgard, Ingeborg, Dieter; and her nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her son Timothy (2019), her parents, Karl (1984) and Elsa (1981), her brother Willie (2015), and her sister Waltraud (2018).
Lore’s many talents included cooking, baking (famous for Linzer torte, Black Forest cake, cinnamon buns, and cheese cake), knitting, crocheting, and sewing (designed and sewed many outfits for her children and grandchildren).
Lore’s family would like to extend their thanks to Annette (Lore’s primary caregiver), the Palliative Care team, and all the wonderful caregivers, nurses, and doctors who attended to her with kindness and dignity.
Lore's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday March 7 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home in Waterloo (171 King Street South, Waterloo, Ontario N2J 1P7, 519-745-8445).
A funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, March 8 at 11:00am at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street St. S, Waterloo with burial to follow. For those not able to attend, the funeral service will be livestreamed at www.erbgood.com
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre or the New Apostolic Church Canada would be appreciated and may be arranged through the funeral home 519-745-8445.
