Obituary of Michael Simon Braun

Michael passed away peacefully, into the arms of Jesus, with his family by his side on March 19, 2022.

Michael was born in Kitchener, ON on April 22, 1948. He was the eldest of 5 children born to Barbara (nee Schuss) and Michael Braun Sr.

Beloved husband and best friend of Doris Braun (nee Leis) for over 52 years, married September 6, 1969. Loving father to Charlene Phillips (Chris), Chuck Braun, Christine Wagg (Sheldon) and Cherie Hood (Aaron). He was a proud papa of Hayley, Taylor, Madison, Abigail, Micah, Eden, Brynlee, Sullivan and Nixon. Dear brother to Dave Braun (Donna), Ron Braun (Kim), Bob Braun (Jean), Mary Ann Dobson (Stuie) Brother-in-law to Shirley Hosea (Bill) and Doreen Erb (Laverne). Remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Predeceased by his parents Michael and Barbara Braun, father-in-law Ralph Leis, mother-in-law Sarah Leis (nee Gerber) and his son James Michael Braun.

Mike was a man of few words. He was strong, patient and gentle. His great sense of humour and positive attitude shone through despite many years of physical challenges and struggles. His quiet presence will be greatly missed. His legacy is reflected in the lives of those he loved so well.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Shelly from Closing the Gap, Daniella from Care Partners and to the amazing palliative care team at Lisaard House, Cambridge.

Michael’s family will receive relatives and friends for visitation at 12pm on Wednesday, March 23^rd at First Baptist Church, 306 Erb St. W., Waterloo. His funeral service will follow at 1pm.
