KATHARINA FRITSCH

1922- 2022

After a long and fulfilling life, Katharina died peacefully at Nithview Home in New Hamburg on Saturday, March 26, 2022, in her 100th year.

Beloved wife of Georg Fritsch who predeceased her April 26, 2011. Loving Mother of her three sons and their wives, Georg and Trudy, Reinhold and Linda all of St. Clements and Michael and Margit of Crosshill. Oma will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Peter and Karen, Andrew and Jacquie, Eric, Tiffany and Pat, Aimee and Dave, Danielle, and Lisa. Uroma to Julia, Alexander, Danika, Brandon, Noah, Manny, Sophia, Adriana, Anthony, and Chelsea. She will fondly be remembered by a sister-in-law Rosina Schlecht of Columbus Ohio and her family, along with many other relatives in Canada, United States, Germany, and Austria.

In addition to her husband Georg, she was predeceased by her parents Susanna Fritsch and Johann Botscher and a sister in infancy.

Katharina and Georg immigrated to Canada with their family in 1954. She was a lifelong member of the Transylvania Club and a founding member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Katharina with her family at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo on Thursday, March 31, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The family asks that you RSVP for the visitation on Katharina's tribute page at www.erbgood.com or by calling 519.745.8445.  The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Friday, April 1 at 11:00 am with Rev. Mark Ehlebracht officiating. No RSVP is required for the service. Following cremation, a family interment will be in Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener.

Following the service in the chapel, friends and relatives are invited to the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home for refreshments and a time to visit with the family.

Condolences for the family and donations to Grand River Regional Cancer Centre or the Multiple Sclerosis Society – Grand River Chapter would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy and may be arranged through the funeral home, www.erbgood.com or 519.745.8445.

The family respectfully requests that you wear a mask and are fully vaccinated to attend the visitation or funeral service. The service will be live streamed and recorded at www.erbgood.com and can be accessed on Katharina’s tribute page.

Due to COVID restrictions, the family requests that friends do not bring baking for the reception.
