Michael passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital on Thursday, March 31^st, 2022, at the age of 95.
 

Beloved husband and best friend to Anna Kreischer for 68 years. Loving father of Elfriede Walesch (Peter) and Herbert Kreischer (Karen). Opa will be lovingly remembered by his granddaughters Tanya Walesch (Joe Potts) and Olivia Emrich (Jeff). Cherished Opapa to Michael, Gabriel and Tobias Emrich.  Dear brother of Georg Kreischer and sister-in-law Irmgard Weber of Austria.

Michael will be fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Sara & Klaus Bliefert and Regina & John Karschti.  Michael will be missed by many nieces and nephews in Canada, Austria and Germany.

Predeceased by his parents Michael Kreischer & Katharina (Feinweber), brother Simon Kreischer and daughter-in-law Judy Kreischer.
 

Michael and Anna immigrated to Canada in 1953, settling in Alberta, then later moving to Kitchener in December 1954.  He was a long-time member of the Transylvania Club and Bethel Lutheran Church.

Michael had the greatest outlook on life, the most positive and happy soul.  He was employed as a custodian with the Waterloo Regional District School Board for 30 years. He enjoyed gardening and grafting fruit trees in his backyard. He loved to read the newspaper daily, playing cards with friends and traveling to many places.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Michael with his family at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo on Monday April 4^th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Tuesday April 5^th from 12:00 to 1:00 pm. The family asks that you RSVP for the visitation on Michael’s tribute page at www.erbgood.com or by calling 519.745.8445.  The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Tuesday April 5^th at 1:00 pm. No RSVP is required for the service. The family respectfully requests that you wear a mask to attend the visitation or funeral service. The service will also be livestreamed at www.erbgood.com on Michael’s tribute page. A private family interment and reception will take place following the service.
