Aunt Rosemary, Stephen, David, Dennis and families, my family and I extend our deepest sympathies.
Uncle Al was a wonderful man. He always spoke proudly and lovingly of his family. There was always a smile on his face, a hug to be shared and kind words to be spoken.
I have been blessed to have Uncle Al and Aunt Rosemary as my Godparents. They have always been true examples of love, faith and friendship. I have been honoured to include them in my family’s lives as well.
Al, you are loved and will be missed.

Dear Rosemary, Steve, David and Dennis,
We are very sorry about Al's passing. We were so lucky to be neighbours with Al and Rosemary when we landed in Canada. Al was actually the first Canadian we met. He was so kind and welcomed us the moment we met with a big smile on his face. We learnt so much about Waterloo Region from him. We especially loved our conversations about his upbringing, how he spoke German until the age of six, where he worked over the years and how he and Rosemary bought their first house. He was always interested to hear about our families in Palestine and the Middle East. We will never forget our Christmas train ride in December 2021 and Ana Mae's Bakery trip. He also loved our little boy so much and used to make him sit with him in his chair. We only knew Al in the last year and a half of his life, but we will forever love and remember him.
Our deepest condolences to the whole family,
Omar Qouqas and Anwar Jaber

Dear Aunt Rosemary and family;
We remember Uncle Al as a spiritual man who was fun, quick to share his time and skill in creating a garden, fruit basket, immaculate yard and house, pet sitting.
His kind and compassionate ways were appreciated by so many.
He enriched us with good humour, a quiet strength and steadfast faith. Through his struggles and triumphs he remained proud yet humble.
A solid dedicated husband/father/grandfather/friend.
We feel grateful and privileged to have had him in our lives.
Sincerely,
Bert [from heaven], Janet, Brian, Lindsay and Shelby

Dear Rosemary and family,
It was with sadness that I heard the news of the passing of dear Al. I remember one of my first encounters with you and Al, when you moved into 81 Hillcrest Avenue, when I was visiting my parents at 76 Hillcrest. We were sitting in your living room and talking about the Resurrectionists that you knew. Our friendship was not only one of neighbours, but one of a shared faith and commitment to Jesus Christ and the Church. Our paths crossed often over the years, and it was always so great to receive your generous and caring support of my vocation. Your sincerity always touched me. On one occasion we even saw each other in the complex on Belmont, in a meal with mutual friends.
May you all have the consolation and peace that comes from our faith in the resurrection of Jesus. I will offer the Eucharist for all - and for all of you - on Wednesday, May 4. God bless you all!
Very Rev. Paul S. Voisin, C.R.
Superior General
Congregation of the Resurrection
