Fred will be missed. He enjoyed telling jokes (what we now call "dad jokes") and loved to laugh at them. The first born and eight years my senior he was a trailblazer in our family. He and Heather were like one person in my eyes. I looked up to them my whole adult life.

Fred was my older brother and we shared many happy travels-from Fort William (Fred in St. Mary's first), to Wellington Place to a farm near Eden Mills where we both attended the one room school, SS#1, with Mrs. Bell - a remarkable teacher with 8 grades-and really our mentor to become teachers as we older kids had to teach the younger ones from when we were 6 years old. It was then to 113 Eramosa where we often looked after the 5 younger siblings. GCVI was another shared education institution with the orchestra and Student Council as common extra-curricalar activities.
We have been blessed to have the 7 siblings together, weekly, over Zoom for the last 18 months sharing many memories. He was a favourite uncle to my kids and grandkids-at get togethers, he loved to scare the little ones and watch them run off! At our Christmas Eve smorgasbords he loved all the foods, but especially the "pigs tails" for which he vied for the last one! He was a kind, gentle and loving man who touched many lives of family and hundreds of students. He will be missed but will rest in peace.

My big brother Fred always a sense of humour and words of wisdom. I feel so grateful to have had you in my life to guide and talk to about just about every subject in this life and beyond. A philosopher, a teacher, a comedian and a lover of chocolate cake and whipping cream… two important food groups for the Walberg family. Life is brief yet full of great memories. I will miss you. Love to all from you little sister
