Obituary of Michael Rector

With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Michael Rector at St. Mary’s General Hospital, Kitchener, on Friday, May 27, 2022.

Michael is survived by his loving wife Jennifer (nee Eilert), children Jamie Embree (Joshua), Joshua Rector, Michele Jordyn Rector, Michael Jakob Rector (Tina), Kiera Beth Haro, grandchildren Logan, Jessey, Klara, Izabella, step-mom Ruth Rector, siblings Gordon, Tim, and Jody Rector, and sister-in-law Karen (Del) Braund. Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents Joseph Rector and Diane (Murray) Rektor, sister Michelle Rector, brother Joey Rector, and parents-in-law Klaus and Renate Eilert.

Mike will be lovingly remembered as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was a natural-born leader and people were drawn to his powerful, approachable energy. Words can't describe how loyal, strong, and giving he was as a husband and father. He was as solid as a rock and truly the rock for his loved ones. He has left a hole in many hearts and will forever be missed. 

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. A private family service will follow.
