Obituary of Robert (Bob) Arthur Close

Bob Close of Waterloo, ON., passed away peacefully at Parkwood Mennonite Home on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at the age of 92 years.

 

Born in Guelph, ON., where he lived most of his life, Bob was a long-time employee at Guelph General Electric up until his retirement in 1989.

Predeceased (1990) by his wife of 40 years, Jean Ann Close (nee McCarl), the mother of his three children.

 

Beloved Father to Randy Close (Sandra) of Waterloo, Lynda Kovacs (Ian) of Gravenhurst, and Ronald Close (Kathleen) of Toronto. He also leaves behind 7 cherished grandchildren; Aaron, Shannon and Ryan Close, Sarah Leitch and Becky Chaves, Fraser and Graeme Close; as well as 13 beautiful great grandchildren who brought great joy in his later years.

 

Bob was also fortunate to have found a special love in his mid-life. He was predeceased (2006) by his second wife Doris Johnston.

 

Dad will be very deeply missed by all who knew and loved him and he will be fondly remembered as a very kind and gentle man of great integrity.
