It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vera Evelyn Stone in her 91st year. Beloved wife of Ronald (late) for 66 years. Devoted mother to Scott (Sandy) and Leslie. Cherished grandmother to Jeffrey (Jamie), Laura (Reuben), Kimberley (Matt), Christopher and James. Born in Kitchener (Freeport), Ontario to Alfred and Gladys Irvine (Scharman).
Vera dedicated herself to raising her children and creating a comfortable home for her family. Vera had a deep commitment for service and helping others and spent several years involved in the Mississauga Hospital Auxiliary. In the early 80’s, Vera attended Sheridan College studying Marketing and Business Administration. A natural wizard with numbers and finance, Vera combined her talents and enjoyed a successful career in Marketing and Accounting from which she retired at age 84. Vera was an avid tennis player in her early years winning several competitions. Vera loved time at the cottage with her family and went to great lengths to create special memories entertaining family and friends in Muskoka. Vera loved hiking and nature and enjoying many scenic hiking adventures in the Canadian Rockies and in other countries. A natural wordsmith, Vera had a gift for writing, delighting many with her lyrical, thoughtful and witty poetry. Vera had a passion for life and a heart filled with love.
A Celebration of Life will take place later in 2022.
