Obituary of Matthew Robert Rubach
Our hearts are forever broken with the sudden passing of our beautiful son Matthew who left this world far too soon on Wednesday June 22, 2022 at the age of 33. It is difficult to comprehend why God needed him right now as he was so fiercely loved here on earth.
Sadly leaving behind his parents: mother Brenda (Dwayne), and father Terry (Cynthia). Big Sis Melissa and his Little Sister Raina who adored and loved Matt more than anything in this world, his step-brother Reggie, and his honorary sister in life Lilly.
He will be lovingly remembered and cherished by his many friends and family.
Matthew’s passion for food and culinary experimentation was the focus of his soul. He will be remembered for cooking Christmas and family meals, not wanting any help in the kitchen as he worked his masterpieces. He worked in many different restaurants across the Kitchener/Waterloo area and made a wide-ranging network of friends. Matt was always there to listen, to lend a helping hand, to encourage, and to assist in any way he could. His friends will miss his outgoing and caring nature, as he always put those he loved first in his life. His deep empathy for those suffering and struggling in life, allowed him to see that special side in others without judgement and with acceptance.
Matt deeply loved his little sister and always talked about her, every moment with her was precious to him.
His love for his family and friends was evident in his life and in his persistence to continue the fight. We are so proud of his courage and strength and will be forever grateful for the passion for life Matt brought to our lives. Although we have been left with an unsurmountable void in our family, we know your presence is here in us and with us Matt each and every moment. You are and always will be a part of us forever. We miss you terribly.
