Elizabeth “Jean” Draves
January 14, 1942 – June 26, 2022
Georgina Elizabeth “Jean” Draves passed away peacefully, with her sons and sister Bern at her side at Sunnyside Home in Kitchener. Jean was born in Newfoundland on Jan 14, 1942 to William and Maude Oliver. Jean was born the youngest girl of 7 sisters. Jean moved from Newfoundland at the age of 16 along with her sister Pauline. They made K-W their home. Jean met and married Wayne and they had two loving boys that now are in deep mourning for their loss of their loving and caring mother. Mom was very proud of her Newfoundland heritage which in over the years, she made many trips back and forth to her home place. Mom kept busy with gardening, playing cards and especially having family get togethers with 5 of her sisters, husbands and children also kept busy with helping to run the family business Active Paving & Landscaping
Jean was a mother, grandmother and great grandmother, leaving behind the following to mourn; Sons, Rick & Jody Draves, Tim Draves & Kathy Bryant, Daughter Brenda & John Howard. Grandsons, Daniel Draves, Greg Draves & Victoria Siopiolosz, Geoff Draves Granddaughters, Jill Cressman and Paul Long, Camryn Draves, Great granddaughters, Quinn Cressman Long, Heidi Mc Neelands Draves also many nephews, nieces and cousins. Also survived by sisters & brothers in law Pauline Oliver and Bernardine Oliver both of Kitchener, Madonna Williams of Newfoundland, Genieve Yard of Wisconsin USA, Les Baker of Listowel and Bryon Draves of Waterloo.
Predeceased by Mary & Tony Kresky, Maureen Baker, Rose & Paul Stanich, Ron Gulliver, Eric Williams, Charles Yard, Jean Draves.
A memorial reception and a time to visit with the family will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home’s Fireside Reception Room, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 2 – 6 pm. Tributes to be given at 5:00 pm. Cremation will have taken place and interment will be held at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener at a later date.
