Obituary of Lynne Parkin

Lynne Parkin (nee Colson) on June 26, 2022 in Waterloo at age 69 after a brief illness.

Lynne was devoted to her husband, Doug, having met while members of the Montreal West Operatic Society. They married in 1986.

Doug is eternally grateful for many happy years together in Montreal, Toronto, Bermuda, Jackson’s Point, Sarasota and finally Waterloo.

Lynne was the daughter of Michael and Margaret Colson, both deceased; sister of David (deceased), Susan Anthony, Anne-Marie McCarthy (Paul), Mark (deceased), loving aunt to her nieces and nephews; stepmum to James (Margaret), Neil (Sylvie), Andrew (Eleanor) and seven grandchildren.

Lynne lived to help others, tirelessly volunteering at hospices and retirement homes wherever she lived until Covid removed that possibility.

Lynne would stop anyone walking a dog and remember every one of them by name.

She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, 173 Lourdes Street, Waterloo, on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.
