Obituary of Sandi Olivia Solan
Superstar bowler and dance enthusiast Sandi Olivia Solan passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 3, 2022, with her loving family by her side. Her incredible capacity for kindness, infectious giggle, and unapologetic sassiness will live on in the memories of her family and friends.
Sandi was a vibrant member of Kitchener Adults in Motion and the VIBE (run by KW Habilitation Services) for over 30 years. She developed many lifetime friendships at both programs. Sandi loved athletics, artwork, colouring, crafts, tea, day trips, and belting out her favourite songs during TC Idol singing contests. Sandi got up every morning excited for a new adventure, whether that be solving a puzzle or catching a Jay’s game. Above all else, she loved her friends and family. She was always there with a hug and a reminder: “I love you. Don’t work too hard.”
Sandi is survived by her brother Joseph Worrell and his wife Astrid, her sister Jandera (Mitzi) Worrell-Rogers and her husband Brian Rogers, her sister Judith Carlaw and her husband Roger Carlaw.
Sandi was a loving, proud, and protective aunt to Cherise Carlaw, Ian Carlaw, Jordan Worrell, Michaela Rogers, Anthony Worrell, and Tonya Worrell.
Predeceased by her mother Novlette Solan and grandparents Alice and Clarence Solan.
We give thanks to Our Heavenly Father for being with Sandi and renewing her strength to face each day with courage, bravery, and the heart of a champion, all while demonstrating kindness to everyone she met.
We thank all the staff and volunteers at the VIBE and Adults in Motion for making these programs so enjoyable to attend. We thank all Sandi’s respite workers for enhancing Sandi’s life experiences, especially Carol. Thank you to Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth for your kindness, care, and compassion.
