Obituary of Charles Holtby Dunning

Passed away suddenly in his 91st year at University Gates Retirement Home in Waterloo, on Monday July 18th.

Beloved husband of the late Mildred Blanche (nee Bell) in 2002. Loving father of Shelley, Peter (Brenda), and Andrew (Andrea). Cherished Grandpa of Michael, Sarah, Kiah and Kristin.

Holt treasured spending time at his cottage on Sturgeon Lake near Bobcaygeon and in previous years could often be found travelling down the road in his golf cart, stopping in to visit family and friends. He was very sociable and loved listening to and learning about the lives of others. He brought a quiet but meaningful presence to his conversations. Holt enjoyed the simple pleasures, a good cup of coffee, a cup of soup, or a nice family dinner.

Cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place at a later date. Holt’s final resting place will be at St. James Cemetery in Toronto.
