Obituary of Gary Michael Kraft

It has pleased our Lord and Saviour, in His infinite wisdom, to take Gary Michael Kraft, 68, to Heaven to be with Him for all eternity.  Gary was born 25 March 1954 and passed away 01 August 2022, at Freeport Hospital Palliative Care Unit.

He was predeceased by his Mother, Millie Kraft, on 04 March 2019.  Gary is deeply mourned by his Dad, Donald Kraft; his brother John (Connie); his twin sister Gail; his younger brother David; his Aunt Cathy and Aunt Pam; his nieces/nephews; great-nieces/great-nephews; and cousins.

Gary was a quiet, solitary man. He had a great sense of humour and a very kind heart, willing to help anybody who was in need, even when he was hard-up himself.

Gary worked a CN Weber for a few years. Then he worked at JM Schneider’s for a few more years. His last position was with the Waterloo Region School Board, working as a custodian at various schools.  He retired early, due to health reasons. During his last few years with us, he was in and out of the hospital. His quality of life was not good but no matter how sad his life became, he never lost his great sense of humour, always able to make you laugh.

He loved fishing and gardening. When he was younger, Gary and his brother John used to enjoy going on fishing trips together. They always had a great time. He and his younger brother used to visit quite often and talk about gardening techniques and the good old days.

We all miss Gary very much but are comforted in the knowledge that he is in Heaven, comforted in the arms of our loving Lord and Saviour and our Mother, who passed away three years ago.

Special thanks to all the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital and Freeport Hospital Palliative Care Unit for all of their tender and loving care they gave to Gary. He died very peacefully.
