Obituary of Jessie Maley

MALEY, Jessie.

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Jessie Maley, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend to all whose lives she touched on August 8, 2022.  She was in her 98^th year.

Born in Zbarazh, Ukraine on March 1, 1925 and immigrating to Canada (Timmins, ON) with her parents Helen and Michael Tesluk in 1935.  She witnessed incredible changes to her world.  In Timmins, she met her loving husband John Maley and they were married in 1945. 

Jessie was the beloved mother of Helen (Sam) and Raymond, proud grandmother of Christine Hanna (David) and Sean Hanna.  Predeceased by her devoted husband John (1983) and daughter Helen (2018).

Jessie lived a full life as a wonderful mother, homemaker, small landlord, and former 18 year employee of Grand River Hospital.  She loved to cook, kept an immaculate house, was a highly skilled seamstress and maintained a good understanding of financial matters up until her passing.  Gardening was also a passion. Most of all she deeply loved her family and instilled in her children strong values that have served them well.  When we think of all the things she gave us throughout the years, personal sacrifice, devotion, love, tears, her heart, soul, energy and mind, the world has truly lost a beautiful mother. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 15, 2022 from 7-9pm at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street S., Waterloo. Parish prayers will be recited at 9pm.  Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, Waterloo on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 10am. Interment will follow at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
