Obituary of Donna Mae Murray

(nee Steffler)

It is with profound sadness and unimaginable pain that her family announces the sudden passing of Donna Mae Murray, lovingly known as Donz, on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at home with her husband and best friend Dave by her side. She had just celebrated her 69^th birthday.

Donna leaves behind her loving husband of 49 wonderful years, David Murray, who she married on July 21, 1973; their three precious sons, Christopher (Christine Cowan), Jeffrey (Kirstin), and Michael (Amelia Howard); and her five grandchildren, Meghan, Madelyn, Hilary, Jillian, and Preston who were her utmost pride and joy. Her absence is also felt by a large network of family and friends including her brothers Larry Steffler (Janet) and Gary Steffler (Chris), her many in-laws and cherished nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her parents Lorraine (Arndt) and Leo Steffler, sister Susan and brother-in-law Brian Stephens, and sister Kathy Steffler.

Donz worked for over 40 years as a home childcare provider, impacting the lives of many families with her energetic and youthful zest for life.  She will be remembered and dearly missed as a kind and gentle person whose greatest joy came from spending time with family and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, September 2, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Donna’s life will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation will follow and a private family interment will take place.
