Obituary of Lynne Marie Wight

On August 31, 2022 Lynne Marie Wight died at the age of 69 at her home in Waterloo. Lynne was born to Ollie and Mary De Young in St. Catharines. She is known for her dedication to family and friends and for her determination to do things well planned and fully completed. Her studies at Trent University were interrupted by love, marriage and travel with Darwin. She fulfilled her ambition and earned her BA from the University of Waterloo while she was the Manager of International Recruitment for Graduate Studies.

In the intervening years Lynne and Darwin raised their children Natasha, Alexandra and Thomas James and last year became a grandmother to Isac (Roman). Lynne's legacy includes a lifelong friendship with Desi and Lise and being a great sister to Allen, Bill, Bonnie, Brian, Danuta, Pat, Beth and Sue. Family time was paramount in Lynne's life and she cherished the time spent on Raymond Street, Fingal Place and; especially, the Buckhorn summers.

All of Lynne's family, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues are invited to come together with Father Rafal Toman for a funeral mass at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, 173 Lourdes Street, Waterloo on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 9 a.m., to celebrate Lynne and her life of adventure, joy, courage and hope. A private family interment will be held at a later date at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.  A reception will immediately follow the mass in the parish hall.

Condolences for the family and memorial donations to Grand River Hospital Foundation - Grand River Regional Cancer Centre or to the UW WellFit Centre for Community, Clinical and Applied Research Excellence (CCCARE) may be arranged through the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo at www.erbgood.com or 519.745.8445.
