Mrs. Butchart was my Grade One teacher at St. Teresa's School in Kitchener (in 1976). I fondly remember that she wrote the word 'cute' on the picture that I had drawn which inspired me to draw more. She was a dedicated teacher. I have made the cake recipe that she contributed to the Lourdes cookbook several times, sharing that it was my Grade One teacher's recipe. I have followed in her footsteps as I am also a Grade One (and Two) teacher.
I will have my students offer prayers for my Grade One teacher.
