Katherine Ann Huffman (nee Fenn) of Orillia, passed away peacefully, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kitchener on September 16, 2022 at the age of 92, one day following her 66th wedding anniversary.
Predeceased by her parents James and Lilyan and her infant brother Robert.
Katherine is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Ronald. She leaves behind her children Ronalee and John Clark, Nancy and John Evans, Sarah and Sandy Fryfogel, her grandchildren Adam, Brett, James, Sheila, Brandon, Helen and Sebastian, and her great-grandchildren Riley, Amelia, Avery and Lincoln, all whom she thought were “so smart”. Katherine will be missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Katherine worked for many years as a Registered Nurse in Orillia. Most of these years in obstetrics. She would often meet women on the street who remembered our mother being their nurse and were grateful for her care. Mom and Dad moved to Kitchener in 2016 to be closer to “our girls”.
Katherine’s family wishes to thank the staff and Doctors at St. Mary’s Hospital and Freeport for their kindness and support over the past few months. Special thanks to Dr. Spencer Ler for your conversation, care and compassion, Greta DeLonghi, Chaplain at St. Mary’s for your daily visits and prayers, the 6th floor nurses Lindsey, Kumby and Bitty…you truly are angels that walk among us, as well as the many friends made at the Fallowfield apartments for your friendship and care.
Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm and on Wednesday, Sept. 21 from 10:00 – 10:45 am.
