Obituary of Claudio Alfonso Silva

Passed in his sleep at St. Mary’s General Hospital, Kitchener on Friday, September 16, 2022. Aged 64 years, Claudio was the grandson of the late Josef and Barbara Riess, and son of the late Alfonso and Elena (Helen) Silva. He is survived by his sister Constanza Helen Silva (Laurie) and many cousins (Teeter/Poljak, Guzman, and Vargas) in the USA and Colombia.

Claudio was born in 1958 in Bogota, Colombia, grew up in Kitchener and lived in Waterloo. Poet, painter, photographer and warrior, Claudio lived a life that was ebullient, vexing, artistic and learned. Claudio, you are the sword of the lightning strike, beholder of ocean kings, and shield of eternity. You are my star hero, forever in my heart, te quiero siempre.
