Russ' passion was flying. I was Russ' flight instructor many years ago. We kept in touch and would continue to fly together on many occasions. Shortly before his passing his wife reached out to me asking if I could take him flying one more time. Even in his medical condition and the fact that he could not speak, it was very evident that he was over-joyed. He will always remain a friend. God Bless you Russ. May the flight to heaven be a calming, everlasting journey.
