Obituary of Diane Tyssen
Diane passed away peacefully in her 86th year with her dear husband and best friend Dick by her side. She was predeceased by two children and her elder sister. Diane will be sadly missed by family, Jeff and Michelle Tyssen; Marie Tyssen and Randy Snitman; Bob and Lorrie Tyssen and Heidi and Joel Nelson. She will also be fondly remembered by her dear sister Deirdre Graham as well as her nine much loved grandchildren and two precious great grandchildren who will no doubt bring memories of their Oma to the lively and regular “Tyssen family reunions".
Diane’s life was truly full and she looked forward to every day as a new adventure. She was fortunate to really enjoy her working careers at Dunlop Research Centre – where she was introduced to bridge, which became a lifelong hobby – and at Seneca College in North York where she worked until she and Dick moved to Waterloo in 1989. Both Diane and Dick enjoyed the family cottage and were active sailors and racers on Lake Simcoe for many years. They also enjoyed many wine-tasting vacations throughout Europe, South America, South Africa and Australia and New Zealand. Diane also loved playing bridge and played regularly at both the Westmount Club and Wing 404. In her later years her health precluded extended excursions, but she greatly enjoyed winter in Florida and cruises and vacations in the Caribbean, Hawaii, Panama, the Dominican Republic and Mexico.
Cremation has taken place and Diane’s wishes will be honoured in that there will be no visitation and the funeral will be a private family function. Diane would prefer to be remembered as you last saw her - sailing on Lake Simcoe, dealing the cards for another game of bridge, or simply enjoying socializing with family and friends. As expressions of sympathy, donations to a charity of your choice may be arranged through the funeral home and would be appreciated by the family.
