Obituary of John Francis Weber

John Francis Weber passed away unexpectedly, at home, on Monday, November 7, 2022 at the age of 91 years.

Survived by his wife Mary Lou, his daughters Lori (Dave) Edwards, and Mary Frances (Wil) Carter, and his grandchildren Jessica (Alex), Samantha, Matthew (Savannah), Mackenzie (Alison) and Kate (John). John was thrilled to welcome his great grandson Callum David and affectionately called him Tiger. John is also fondly remembered by Mary Lou’s sons Rudy and James Stuart. Predeceased by his parents Mina Israel and Walter Weber.

John was a positive, kind and gentle man who loved his family deeply. Conversations with Grandpa always ended with a reminder to take good care.

An avid reader, John loved mysteries, and discussing world events. Grey Cup parties, jazz afternoons, Ranger hockey games, euchre nights, gardening, golf, skiing, cycling and sheepdogs were also a big part of John’s life. John was an early member of the Chicopee Ski Club, the K-W Jaycees and a 25-year member of the Oktoberfest Parade Committee, John had a strong connection to downtown Kitchener and began his working career at George Fine and then Kabel’s MensWear. This led to a long and storied career working well into his eighties creating imaginative window displays at stores and malls throughout Ontario. John was also an instructor at Conestoga College and a well-respected consultant to many downtown business associations.

Cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, Floradale.

Condolences for the family and donations to the Heart and Stroke Association of Ontario, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Arthritis Society may be arranged at www.erbgood.com
