With great sadness, and with thanksgiving for his life and impact, we announce the peaceful passing of Patrick Kinsella on November 26 with his family at his side.
Paddy was born in Dublin, Ireland, on October 6th, 1963. He moved to Kitchener Ontario in 1988, where he lived, raised two daughters, built meaningful friendships, and enjoyed his volunteer and work involvements (especially in the Ontario Public Service as a Correctional Services Officer for more than 25 years, and then later as a bus driver for Grand River Transit).
Paddy was a wonderful and loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was an engaging and funny storyteller, who loved travelling, cooking, going for countryside drives, and cheering on the Buffalo Bills. He was an avid volunteer, someone who had a deep concern for justice, fairness, advocacy, and caring for those who are less fortunate.
Patrick is survived by his daughters Niamh (Peter) and Aislinn, his grandsons Darren and Greyson, his siblings William, Betty (Colin), and Bernadette, his loving extended family, and many wonderful friends and colleagues.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday November 30th, 2022, from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. E., Waterloo. A funeral service will take place on December 1st at the Erb & Good chapel beginning at 1:00pm with an hour of visiting prior. A private family internment will follow at St. Agatha Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, and in recognition of Patrick’s volunteer work, memorial donations in support of the Waterloo Regional Food Bank would be sincerely appreciated. Condolences and donations in memory of Patrick can be made at erbgood.com.
