Obituary of Elfreda Lorraine Wahl

Passed away Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Forwich Village Nursing Home.  She was born January 10, 1923 to the late Alvin and Doris Foell. 

Predeceased by her loving husband Howard Wahl (1982) and her precious loved granddaughter Jennifer Fisher (2001). 

Dearly loved Mother of Judy (Bob) Archer of Stratford, and Janice (Eric) Fisher of Ayton.  

Loving grandmother of Todd (Heather) Archer, St. Mary’s, Trevor (Joanne) Archer, Stratford, Becky (Tom) Voll, St. Agatha, and Stephanie Fisher (Behn), Fergus.  Great Grandmother (G.G.) of Helena, Kalan, Aurora, Mason, Elsie and Victor.  Survived by one brother Donald (Gail) Foell, Waterloo, one brother-in-law Eric Ostrander, Waterloo and one sister-in-law Lynne Foell, London.  Predeceased by her sisters Mavis Weismiller (Fred) of Dundas, Eileen Schnarr (Gord) of Kitchener, Lorna Sippel (Earrol) of Waterloo, and Dorothy Ostrander of Waterloo.  Predeceased by her brothers Clifford Foell (Myrtle) of Markham, Kenneth Foell (Theresa) of Scarborough, and Denis Foell of London. 

Survived by many nieces and nephews.  She was a long-time and active member of Emmanuel United Church, Waterloo teaching Sunday School and Bible School for over 20 years, serving on the Funeral and Fellowship committees and as an usher and welcomer.  She volunteered at Grand River Hospital for 30 years, as well as at Habitat for Humanity and Terrace on the Square.  She was a beautiful, loving, caring, generous lady with a winning smile and a twinkle in her eye.  She had many talents sewing, knitting, crafts, making stuffed animals, baking, playing bridge, solo and crib.

We will miss her dearly.

A private, immediate family service will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street S., Waterloo.

Interment at Memory Gardens Breslau.

The family would like to thank the wonderful, caring staff at the Fordwich Village Nursing Home for their excellent care. Special thanks to her cherished neighbours and dear friends Ralph and Dianne Van Dalen who helped tremendously.
