Obituary of Frances Aline Hersey

Frances Aline Hersey (nee Slocum) passed away suddenly on Tuesday December 27, 2022, at the age of 88.

Devoted aunt to David Bertschi and Suzanne Bertschi (Grant Koehler), great-aunt to Jason (Jasmine, nee Sarazin), Matthew, Jennifer (Thomas Leary), Christopher, Bryn, Devon, Eve, and Wyatt and, great-great-aunt to Beckett, Adrian, and Cooper, ‘Aunt Frann’ will be missed. Frances (Frann) was pre-deceased by her husband and the love of her life Douglas Hersey, her brother Gordon Slocum, her sister Lorraine Bertschi (nee Slocum), and parents Cora (nee Thomas) and Stanley Slocum.

Frann’s thoughtfulness and friendly personality were infectious, and her positivity and strength of character admired. She leaves behind extended family and friends from all over who adored her including the Atlantic Branch of the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada for which she and Doug shared a commitment and passion.

Cremation has already taken place, and visitation will be held in the spring at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday May 6, 2023, from 2:30-3:30p.m. A Memorial Service will follow in the chapel of the funeral home beginning at 3:30p.m.
